I thought I would try and recapture some of the mechanical energy going to waste while I play around with this Newman motor. By adding a type of crude induction generator on the end of the newman motor axle. The Generator is made of 6 coils of 200 turns each, wired in a clockwise/counterclockwise configuration. I flush mounted 6 round neo magnets with opposite poles facing the coils on a wheel made from a 4" PVC end cap. Now keep in mind, the goal of this project is not this generator (much bigger gains to be had at the main coil) But since the motor is spinning anyway, why not right? With this setup I'm able to recapture 2V-3.5V DC with a 6V DC input So now this motor has 1 input and 2 outputs. Input: 4-1.5V AA Batteries (6V) Output #1: Up To 14V DC (Main Coil) Output #2: Up To 3.5V DC (Generator) Just with the generator end, I was able to power up a small DC motor, various LED's, will try a cell phone next.. lol

A orquestra de Violinos de Volta Redonda é formada por alunos da rede municipal de ensino, e faz parte do Projeto "Volta Redonda, Cidade da Música", coordenado pelo maestro Nicolau Oliveira. O projeto atua em 26 escolas públicas, e pretende formar cidadãos e desenvolver o ser humano a a partir do ensino da música. Atualmente, o projeto trabalha com Banda de Concerto, Coro Infanto-juvenil e Orquestra de Cordas, grupos estes já consolidados. Estão em fase incial grupos de Canto Coral, Bandas-Mini, Bandas Marciais, Orquestra Sinfônica e Grupo de Violas e Violoncelos. No vídeo, a orquestra se apresenta em Nova Iguaçu, sob regência de Sarah Higino, por ocasião do jubileu da Paróquia Nossa Senhora de Fátima e São Jorge, no dia 2 de junho de 2007, tocando a Aria de Bach. They are included in an education project called "Volta Redonda, Music City", with other 4,000 teens. The goal of this project is "making citizens by learning music". In the video, the Violin Orchestra is performing in a church in Nova Iguaçu city, conducted by Sarah Higino (Aria - Bach). A semi-robotic crane I built with Lego Mindstorms My first NXT project (after playing for 30min with the "start here" box content) is a crane. I decided that it was much better to start off with a stationary model, so I didn't have to run after the robot in case the programming was wrong. It started off as RC only Project. The goal was to have a little crane, very similar to standard construction crane, in my room that I can control via Bluetooth. Now that it is finished it has some more features: ? Remote control via OnBrick on Laptop or Windows Mobile device ? Three fully functional axes: Rotation, move hook away and towards crane, hook level. ? Enough string to lift load from 4m below ? Software coordinate system to keep track of coordinates while using OnBrick remote control ? Movement restriction for hook level and movement towards and away from crane, so the crane can't destroy itself. ? Adjustment of zero coordinates at beginning ? Load/no-load sensor ? Two Programs in NXT-G (Lego Software): All manual mode program and a program with auto drop at zero coordinate as soon as load is sensed (this program does not care what height you pick up load from and what height it has to drop it off to, it will always come back to zero coordinate). ? Load up to two AA batteries and Lego crate. ? Speech like: "CranoBotter at your service" or "Zero Set" ? Dynamic display with custom .ric files ?
