3rd Single From Blackout The video opens with a close-up of the animated Spears mouthing the words "it's been a while." After, a clone of Spears is shown inside a liquid cocoon. Scenes of a futuristic city illuminate the night skies and the superheroine Spears is seen on top of a skyscraper with a full moon behind. She jumps off the building and crashes into an amber glass ceiling. She lands in an indoor water fountain and begins fighting demonic-looking men dressed in business suits. She fights the men under the surveillance of similar men in a state of the art security room. A breach of the security system sounds and an army of men equipped with goggles, shields, and sticks attempt to attack Spears as she enters the highly secured laboratory. She gains access and walks through aisles of clones held in liquid cocoons. She nears one of the tanks and kisses her goodbye then plants a timed bomb on the tank. She jumps out of a window of the blasted building. A wide shot of the exploding building is shown and the word "Victory" is depicted on the side of the structure. The video ends with the words "to be continued", using the same font as in the album Blackout. I changed the title after getting thousands of messages saying it "should have been" the video. I was very disappointed with the cartoon/anime video that was released for this song. It seems a lot of people are bummed. Nothing against anime style videos, but I was really hoping that Britney would nail this video and get back to her roots and knock our socks off like she does in this compilation I've put together. Break the Ice is my favorite song on Blackout and is such a strong song. It deserved a hot, classic Britney video with hot dancing (and panting) - wink-wink. Plus, the anime video doesn't even flow with the song or match the lyrics. I mean, come on! Read the lyrics (below) and then go watch the anime. The whole message of the song doesn't even match what you're watching? Villains? Superheros? WHAT? This is a sexy hot song about breaking the ice and "getting it on"... not monsters chasing Britney! When I 1st saw it, I thought it was a joke or something a fan came up with. When I hear this song on the radio, I want to picture this style video and not a fake cartoon Britney. (You know exactly what I mean.) For those of you who say my video is "just a bunch of clips of her old videos"... well, you're damn right! These clips are what made Britney a superstar. This video is meant to portray Britney looking back (as you can see in the beginning clip from Gimme More) and watching her old self through her old videos. This is a refreshing reminder of the Britney we fell in love with and the passion and chemistry we haven't seen in awhile. That's why the video starts out with "It's been awhile." The original title to this was "Britney's Ghost", which I felt was appropriate. When all is said and done, I understand now is probably not the appropriate time for Britney to be focusing on music videos, tours, etc. It's all about stability and becoming healthy. Please enjoy this "tribute video" in hopes that we'll see this side of Britney again real soon. I'm ready for the next (good) chapter... HEY, THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR NICE COMMENTS!!
